The campus classroom technology was upgraded in December 2020. The science center will continue to use Cynap technology. The rest of the campus classrooms now have a PTZ wall- or ceiling-mounted camera as well as a rear-facing “flowerpot” camera on the instructor podium. Audio is improved in classrooms with ceiling-mounted microphones (for Zoom calls, not for voice lift within the room).

Below are links to videos created by Todd Kent, Audiovisual Services Director. In the videos, he walks instructors through how to get started with a Zoom call in a classroom. You will need to sign into Panopto with your Rivier credentials to watch the videos.

IT suggests that faculty familiarize themselves with the classroom technology before the start of their first class. We encourage faculty to make test Zoom calls in the rooms where they will be teaching, and testing the home-away classroom model if the class they are teaching is split into multiple rooms. The help desk is available to answer questions or act as Zoom participants during test calls. Contact itsupport@rivier.edu to set up an appointment with the help desk!
