Printing From Residence Halls – Installing a Personal Wireless Printer

Rivier University does not recommend that students install a personal printer, especially a wireless printer. We offer economical printing in various locations on campus, notably in the library. Students can also print to the University’s student printers/copiers from their personal devices.

If you insist on using a personal printer, here are some notes and recommendations:

• Use a USB-based printer instead of using wireless printing
• For wireless printers, install the printer on the rivopen network
• Connect to rivopen on the device you will be printing from, usually your laptop
• The IT department does not support troubleshooting wireless printers in residence halls beyond this knowledgebase article
