Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

Rivier University offers Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to faculty, staff, and students for off-campus access. Please see the new instructions below. Note: Most students do not need to use AVD; please check with your instructor if you are unsure.

NEW for 2025: To connect to Rivier University systems from off campus, please use the new Windows App.

Windows

  • Download and install Windows App from the Microsoft Store.
  • Follow the instructions provided in the link above to sign in and connect.
  • Double-click the appropriate virtual desktop:
    • University Desktops for all students
    • CS Desktops for students in certain majors who use these desktops
    • Employee Desktops for all faculty and staff
    • Vendor Desktops for vendors

Mac OS

  • Download and install Windows App from the Mac App Store.
  • Follow the instructions provided in the link above to sign in and connect.

Chromebook

  • Download and install Windows App from the Google Play Store.
  • Follow the instructions provided in the link above to sign in and connect.

All Other Devices (No Install Required)
