Student Print Funds and Print Release FAQ

Print Funds

Students who log into AVD University Desktops or AVD Computer Science Desktops will now see their print fund balance as a floating widget on their desktop. A low balance message is present if your balance is below $3.00.

After printing to PrintHub, a pop-up will appear, asking you to confirm the print job and noting the name of the document being printed and its cost. Only confirmed jobs are sent to the print queue and charged. If your balance is lower than what is needed to print, a new shortcut is now available on the desktop that will take you to Rivier’s OneCard system where you can replenish your Raider Bucks account. If you print in color, you have the option to change it at the printer to black and white to save money. Be sure to hit the Print button from the copier, select the print job, and then click “Print in grayscale” at the bottom.

Student Print Funds will show the remaining balance of your free student printing fund which refreshes at the beginning of every semester. After this fund is depleted, students will use Raider Bucks to print. This is the same fund you can use at dining hall and elsewhere on campus. The floating desktop widget will show the balance of your Raider Bucks after your free print student printing fund has been depleted. Note that the widget will not tell you which fund it is displaying–you will need to visit Rivier OneCard to check your balances.

Print Release (PrintHub)

There is now just one print queue on campus, PrintHub! Print to this printer, and your document is added to a virtual print queue. It can then be released (printed) at any copier on campus!

When a student prints to PrintHub, the print job is held by the Print Release system. This reduces crowding at the printers and affords students privacy of what is being printed. Students can send multiple jobs to the printer and release them all at once. Once you swipe your student ID at the copier, only your print jobs will be visible.

Releasing jobs at the copier is easy: just tap your student ID at the copier to the side of the touchscreen. If you do not have a student ID, you can sign in by typing your Rivier credentials on the printer’s touchscreen.

Print Fund FAQ

How much does it cost to print at Rivier University?

Black and white printing is $0.05 per printed side and color prints are $0.25 per side, unless otherwise noted on the copier/printer or at the time you print.

Students are given $25 of “free” printing allotment each semester. Unused printing balance does no carry over between semesters. After the $25 of “free” print funds is exhausted, our print system will deduct print costs from your Raider Bucks balance. Raider Bucks roll over from semester to semester, and can be used for a variety of other purchases on campus.

How do I add funds to my print allotment?

To add to your Raider Bucks, please visit the OneCard portal by clicking here. You can add funds to your Raider Bucks even if you have not yet depleted your “free” printing allotment.
